Our Family Story
We are a proud family with a rich and storied heritage, rooted in the legacy of our ancestral patriarch, Kĩbuĩ. Our history spans generations, beginning with Kĩbuĩ, his two wives, and the remarkable family journey that brought us to our present home in Rũthegĩtĩ in 1953. Explore our vibrant family tapestry and discover the legacy of Kĩbuĩ and his descendants.
Patriarch Kĩbuĩ, the central figure of our family, was the son of Gatume wa Kĩbuĩ. Gatume, in turn, was the son of Kĩbuĩ and shared a stepbrother relationship with Kariũki. Kĩbuĩ, our ancestor, had two wives with their own lineage:
Gatume, the son of Kĩbuĩ and Wanjirũ, had two wives of his own, named Wambuu and Wambũi. From his marriage with Wambuu, three children were born: Kĩbuĩ Mũkũrũ, Magua, and Aunt Janet.
Gatume and Wanjikũ were blessed with two children: Kĩbuĩ and Karanja.
Our family's history is closely tied to the location Kĩbuĩ Mũkũrũ now occupy in Rũthegĩtĩ, Ndeiya, Kiambu county which was established during the time of Senior Chief Kĩambũthĩ in 1953. At the time of this narrative, as shared by the late Kariũki Kĩbuĩ, the late Chris Kamuyu, and Peter Nganga at Kĩbuĩ's home in Rũthĩgĩtĩ, Kĩbuĩ was approximately 93 years old (in 2022). Though Kĩbuĩ appeared quite alert, he did not possess extensive knowledge of the family's history, but he did contribute this part of our shared heritage.
It's worth noting that Kariũki belonged to the Kĩenjeku age group, while Gatume was part of the Ngige age group. This summary sheds light on the essential family connections and historical context that have shaped our family's legacy.
Beyond our history, it's our family values that truly define who we are. We hold dear the principles of unity, love, inclusivity, and resilience. These values are the cornerstones of our family's legacy and continue to guide us in the present day. We invite you to explore our family's history and values, a testament to the enduring strength of the Kĩbuĩ family.
Welcome to our family's story! Our journey begins with the late Kariũki wa Kĩbuĩ , who was born in the village of Riũ, Ndeiya. His parents were Kĩbuĩ and Wanjikũ. This remarkable man was doubly blessed with two loving households, namely Kĩrũũ wa Mochu household and Nyambura wa Moni's household.
Kariũki Kĩbuĩ served as a dedicated forest ranger, and as a civil servant, he resided with his wife, Kĩrũũ, and their children at the picturesque Thogoto forest work site. In this serene and nature-rich environment, the Kariũki family grew and thrived.
Kariũki and Kĩrũũ were graced with the joy of raising six children, while Mzee Kariũki and Nyambura cherished the upbringing of their six children. Our family's story is a testament to love, resilience, and the bonds that connect us across generations.
